Tata Power to double green power generation capacity in Rajasthan, says CEO

Jaipur/IBNS: Tata Power on Friday said it plans to develop up to 8,000 MW of utility scale projects, 1,000 MW of solar rooftop and 1,50,000 solar pumps in next five years in Rajasthan.

Participating in the 'Invest Rajasthan' event on Friday, Tata Power CEO & MD Praveer Sinha said the company plans to have a renewable power portfolio of 10,000 MW in the state in next five years.

Sinha said that the company had invested for putting up a total power generation capacity of 5,000 MW in the state out of which 2,000 MW is already operational and the remaining 3,000 MW is in different stages of development, which is expected to be completed in the next 12-24 months period.

"Our plan is to increase the capacity to 10,000 MW in the next five years," Sinha said.

He said that Tata Power is fully poised to make the Rajasthan future ready and realise its full potential and emerge as a Green Power House of the country.

"We will continue to build on all three businesses – EPC, Solar Pump and Solar Rooftop, to the benefit of farmers, industries and common citizens of this frontier state,” he added.

The two-day Invest Rajasthan event kicked off Friday with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot inaugurating it.
