Indian Market: Sensex opens high at 60,285.89 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex continued to surge as it opened at a new peak of 60,285.89, up 208 pts on Tuesday following gains in Auto, Capital Goods and IT stocks.

The Nifty too rose by 51 pts at 17,906.45.

The Sensex registered the days high and low at 60,288.44 and 59,899.57 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded the days high and low at 17,912.85 and 17,814.75 pts.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.15 per cent while the Small Cap rose by 0.03 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 13 advanced while 17 declined.

The gainers were Powergrid by 3.21 per cent to Rs 181.65, NTPC by 2.60 per cent to Rs 130.25, Ultracemco by 1.64 per cent to Rs 7751, SBI by 1.45 per cent to Rs 452.64 and Titan by 1.12 per cent to Rs 2114.20.

The losers were Asian Paints by 1.31 per cent to Rs 3385, Infosys by 1.18 per cent to Rs 1701.60, HCL Technology by 1.03 per cent to Rs 1282.15 and Bajaj Finserv by 0.97 per cent to Rs 17,865.15.
