Indian market: Sensex down 63.84 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Monday slipped 63.84 pts to settle at 48,718.52 as selling was seen in Consumer Durable, Realty, Oil and Gas, Energy and Bankex stocks.

While, the Nifty rose marginally by 3.05 pts to 14,634.15.

The day opened in red, as BSE sensex dropped 426 pts to open at 48,356.05. During the day, it lost ground by 754 pts to 48,028.07, days low, in late trade it was recovered but ended negative only at 48,718.52, fell by 63.84 pts from its previous close.

The sectoral indices like Consumer Durable, Realty, Energy, Bankex and Oil and Gas kept the market for another session today.

In scrips, Titan was a major loser, down by 4.58 pc to Rs 1423.60 followed by Indusind Bank by 2.24 pc to Rs 914, Reliance Industries by 1.76 pc to Rs 1959.25, Axis Bank by 1.61 pc to Rs 723 and Kotak Bank by 1.39 pc to Rs 1724.30.

The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 3.98 pc to be 558.70, Hind Unilever by 2.17 pc to Rs 2404.95, Maruti Suzuki by 2.14 pc to Rs 6598.30, Bajaj finance by 1.82 pc to Rs 5552.95 and Asian Paints by 1.69 pc to Rs 2583.15 which capped from further losses.

The sensex registered days high and low at 48,863.23 and 48,028.07 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 14,673.85 and 14,416.25 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.05 pc and Small Cap by 1.57 pc.
