Sensex moves up 903.91 points during the week

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex spurted 903.91 points or 1.89 pc to settle at 48,782.36 in a week under review on positive global cues after the US Federal Reserve pledged to maintain easy monetary policy to aid economic recovery.

The Nifty 50 index advanced 289.75 points or 2.02 PC to settle at 14,631.10.

The BSE Mid-Cap rose 359.01 or 1.80 pc to settle at 20,312.20. The BSE Small-Cap surged 665.10 points or 3.17 pc to settle at 21,670.11.

First four sessions in a week remained positive and on the last day of the week, on Friday the equity market was dropped.

On Monday, tracking positive global cues. Sensex, soared 508.06 points to settle at 48,386.51. Nifty too gained 143.65 points to settle at 14,485.

On Tuesday the Sensex jumped 557.63 points to settle at 48,944.14. Nifty added 168.05 points to settle at 14,653.05.

On Wednesday, the Sensex, jumped 789.70 points to settle at 49,733.84. Nifty gained 211.50 points to settle at 14,864.55.

On Thursday the Sensex, rose 32.10 points to settle at 49,765.94. Nifty added 30.35 points to settle at 14,894.90.

Snapping four-day winning streak Sensex on Friday, slumped 983.58 points to settle at 48,782.36. Nifty slipped 263.80 points to settle at 14,631.10.
