Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Tuesday slipped 17 paise to close at 73.58 against the US Dollar on rising demand for the American currency by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.

In opening trade, the local unit fell 9 paise to 73.50 and finished at 73.58, sliding 17 paise as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee was seen weak owing to firm Dollar against other world currencies, amid negative equity market, dealers added.
