Super Series: Saina loses semi-final clash

Shenzhen (China), Dec 15 (IBNS): Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal Saturday lost the semi-final clash against Li Xuerui of China in the women's singles semifinal of the Badminton World Federation's (BWF) World Super Series Finals at the China Resources Shenzhen Bay Sports Centre, here.


Top seed and current Olympic champion Li Xuerui defeated Nehwal by 20-22, 21-7, 13-21 margin.

The three-game encounter lasted for 50 minutes.

Nehwal had defeated Juliane Schenk of Germany to reach the semi-final round of the tournament.

She gave India the maiden Olympic medal from badminton as she got the women's singles bronze medal in Olympic badminton event this year.
