Pak Taliban behind Karachi blast

Karachi, Nov 9 (IBNS): Pakistani Taliban have claimed responsibility for Thursday's blast targeting the Pakistan Rangers headquarters here.


According to reports, Tehreek-i-Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan said they had more targets on their list and they would target all those who raised their voices against them.

He said that the Pakistani Taliban had their network across Pakistan and could operate from anywhere they wanted.

One person was killed and more than a dozen were injured when a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden truck into the gate of the headquarters of Pakistan Rangers on Thursday.

Pakistan Rangers is a paramilitary force.

Reports quoting police said nine Pakistan Rangers personnel, several policemen and two civilians were among the injured. The person who died was a Rangers man. Around 100kg of explosives was used in the blast.

The blast smashed the glasses of the headquarters and a fire also broke out in the building. Various walls of the building also collapsed.
