New Delhi, July 20 (IBNS): Disgraced junior Indian diplomat Madhuri Gupta was on Tuesday chargesheeted by the Delhi police for passing vital information to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) during her term in Islamabad.
She has been accused of keeping in contact with two ISI officials, Mubshar Raza Rana and Jamshed, to whom she passed secret information.
The Delhi police, submitting a 700-plus page chargesheet against Gupta before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, sought the prosecution of Gupta under various provisions of the Official Secrets Act and the Indian Penal Code.
The chargesheet will be taken for consideration on Wednesday.
Gupta, who was produced in the court, denied all charges, though police claimed it had 30 witnesses against her.
A IFS (B) officer, Gupta was arrested in Delhi on April 22 for passing classified information to the ISI.
She was posted as second secretary, Press and Information, at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad before she was arrested.
