Kolkata/IBNS: Like most people in Showbiz, Tollywood actor-parliamentarian Nusrat Jahan too faced challenges in bouncing back both physically and mentally in the post-pregnancy period, the filmstar has revealed.

In a recent event hosted by Renew Healthcare, Nusrat opened up about some of the challenges she faced after giving birth to her first child in 2021.

Speaking to India Blooms, Nusrat said, "I don't know how hard it hit anybody else but it did hit me very hard that I had to get back in my own form, both mentally and physically. I needed to heal.

"I used to worry over how I would get back into shape as my doctor had asked not to workout till three months (since the birth of her child). I did listen to him. My doctor had asked me to walk and do light exercises, there were no restrictions when it came to food. I got along with things slowly."

"I was worried but it was taken care of by my doctors... One needs someone to guide women in that period. I did heal fast. I was back to work within six days," she added.

Nusrat said this at an event which was held on the completion of the first year of Renew Healthcare, a clinic which aims to provide solutions related to women's health.

Nusrat is known for films Shotru, Jamai 420, Kelor Kirti, Bolo Dugga Maiki, Asur, Dictionary et al.

She ventured into politics in 2019 by successfully contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Basirhat constituency of West Bengal on a ticket of the state's ruling party, Trinamool Congress.
