West Bengal Assembly election: Fourth phase on Monday
Kolkata, Apr 22 (IBNS) In the fourth phase of the ongoing Assembly elections in West Bengal, to be held on Monday, Apr 25, more than 1.07 crore voters are eligible to vote in 49 constituencies spread over two districts.
Of the registered voters, 112 belong to the third gender.
About 12,500 polling stations have been set up for them.
The total number of voters in 33 constituencies of North 24 Parganas district is more than 75 lakhs, while that in 16 constituencies of Howrah district is about 32 lakhs.
Domjur of Howrah district is having the highest number of voters, which is about 2.57 lakhs while Bhatpara of North 24 Parganas district has the smallest number of voters, a little over 1.43 lakhs.
In this phase of polling, Jagatballavpur of Howrah district has the distinction of having the highest number of polling stations, 311. On the other hand, the lowest number of polling stations, 160 are in Bhatpara constituency of North 24 Parganas district.
On Monday, 345 candidates, including 40 female candidates, are in the fray. Both BJP and TMC are fielding 49 candidates, the CPI-M is fielding 24 candidates and the Congres Party 12 candidates. There are 96 independent candidates.
