Sonia Gandhi to campaign in Bengal's Malda today
Kolkata, Apr 13 (IBNS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi will on Wednesday address a rally in Malda district of West Bengal to boost poll campaign for the party.
Gandhi, on her first campaign rally for this election, will address the voters of Sujapur constituency in the district, which has long been considered an impregnable Congress bastion. However, the ruling Trinamool Congress has grown as a formidable force in the district in recent times.
Voting for the second part of the first phase of Assembly elections in West Bengal was done on Monday. Elections are scheduled to be held in 56 Assembly segments on April 17 in the second of the six-phase polls in the state.
Campaigning for these seats spread over six districts of the state are going on with all parties putting in their best efforts to woo voters.
