Delhi Mercedes hit-and-run case: Teen accused gets bail for exams
New Delhi, Apr 26 (IBNS): The teenager, who was accused in the Mercedes hit and run case in Delhi, got bail from the Juvenile Justice Board on Tuesday.
The bail was granted to him to let him take his college entrance exams.
Sidharth Sharma, 33, a marketing executive, was crossing a road near his home in north Delhi's Civil Lines area when he was hit by a Mercedes being driven at a speed of 80 kmph on Apr 4, eyewitnesses were quoted as saying.
Sharma was rushed to hospital, where he died.
At least eight people were reportedly in the car at the time of the accident. All the occupants were teenagers.
After running over the man, the car hit a divider on the road as a result of which two of its tyres burst.
The teen driver and those travelling with him fled the site after the accident, leaving the car behind.
The boy's father has been charged with abetting the crime by allowing him to drive before the legal age.
