Another rhino killed by poachers in Kaziranga

| | May 02, 2016, at 09:10 pm
Guwahati, May 2 (IBNS) One more rhino has been killed by poachers in Kaziranga National Park in Assam according to media reports on Monday, which has taken up the number of rhinos killed in Assam to eight in 2016 alone.

Meanwhile, All India Radio mentioned in a tweet "Assam: Police arrest 5 forest guards for their alleged involved in rhino poaching at the Kaziranga national park."

The Duke of Cambridge Prince William and his wife Duchess Kate Middleton visited the national park in April to raise awareness about conservation and draw attention to the fact that illegal trade in rhino horns and animal body parts are pushing the animals to extinction.

According to local sources, a rhino was killed two days before the royal visit  and another was killed within 12 hours of their visit.
