Three Pakistani cops booked over 'custodial killing'

Pakistani police on Monday registered a case against its three officials on charges of torturing to death a robbery suspect.

According to reports, police had earlier claimed he had died by suicide by hitting his head against iron bars.

Complainant Kausar Parveen of Mauza Rampur claimed in her first information report registered under sections 302, 109, 148 and 149 of Pakistan Penal Code that her son Muhammad Bilal was arrested by Pirmahal City police post incharge sub-inspector Muhammad Afzal, ASI Sarfraz and constable Awais as a robbery case suspect, reported Dawn News.

She told Dawn News that Bilal was tortured to death at the behest of his son’s opponent Muhammad Ali Hiraj.

Police are currently trying to arrest the suspended cops.
