Kabul: Taliban fighters, who were boarding US-made armored vehicles and supported by Russian helicopters, paraded in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Sunday, showcasing their attempt to build a regular army.

The parade was held on Darulaman Street in Kabul city on Sunday, Nov 14, afternoon, reports Khaama Press.

Spokesperson of Afghanistan Defense Ministry Enayatullah Khwarazmi told the news agency that the military show had been held by the newly graduated soldiers.

Khawrazmi said 250 Taliban fighters graduated from 313 central corps in Kabul.

The Taliban insurgents forcefully came to power in Afghanistan on Aug 15.

They started capturing different regions in the country as foreign forces started leaving the war-torn nation earlier this year.

The Taliban announced their interim government in September.
