PPP, Imran Khan govt leaders exchange barbs over Bhutto Zardari's visit to US

| @indiablooms | Jul 14, 2021, at 03:05 am

Islamabad:  PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is currently visiting New York city in the US on a seven-day tour.

The federal government has criticised the opposition leader over the visit.

The PPP leader is on a seven-day 'private' tour of the US. Ever since PPP announced the visit, the government has criticised Bhutto, with PM Imran Khan's aide Dr Shahbaz Gill going so far as to say that Bhutto was seeking a deal from the US, reports The News International.

PPP-US President Khalid Awan, however, clarified Bhutto will not be travelling to Washington during his visit.

Meanwhile, reacting to Dr Shahbaz Gill's remark on Bhutto's US visit, PPP Parliamentarians’ Secretary Shazia Marri was quoted as saying by The News International: "Fawad Chaudhry, Shahbaz Gill and Farrukh Habib are also worried that their leader Imran Khan cannot go to the US without diplomatic immunity because of pending cases in the USA's courts."
