Pakistan: Rise in COVID-19 cases in Sindh forces authority to impose restrictions from Monday
Islamabad: The Sindh government has decided to impose restrictions from Monday onwards as COVID-19 cases once again started to rise in the Pakistan province.
COVID-19 positivity ratio has crossed 10% in the province.
From Monday onwards, shopping malls and markets will be allowed to operate from 6am till 6pm while grocery stores, bakeries and pharmacies are allowed to remain open, reports Geo News.
The provincial government has decided that there would be a ban on marriage halls and other functions and shrines in the province will have been ordered to close due to the worsening situation of the pandemic, the Pakistani news channel reported.
Provincial Coronavirus Task Force chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah met where a decision over the issue was taken.
Education institutions in Sindh will remain closed from Monday onwards, but exams will be held as per schedule, reports Geo News.
