Pakistan: Gas, power outages irk Kohat residents

Kohat: Consumers in Pakistan's Kohat region are braving prolonged suspension of  gas and electricity since the start of Ramzan.

The suspension has dashed their hopes of getting ‘smooth’ supply in the fasting month as promised by the government.

Sajid Islam, a local resident, said the Peshawar High Court had ruled that the residents of a gas-producing district should get the facility uninterrupted, but the SNGPL was ‘flouting’ the court orders, reports Dawn News.

Residents of both urban and rural areas complained that the gas supply was suspended from 10pm till 10am in the morning.

Hamid, a resident of the city, told Dawn News people were troubled while preparing meals at Sehr and Iftar.
