John Kerry arrives in Pakistan

Rawalpindi, Jan 12 (IBNS): Ending his visit to India, US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Pakistan on Monday.

Kerry arrived at Nur Khan air base in Rawalpindi to commence his two-day official visit to the Asian nation.

Kerry is likely to meet top Pakistani leaders including country's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

"US Secretary of State, in his strategic talks with Pakistani leadership, will exchange views on Pak-Afghan ties and tense situation with India," Geo News reported quoting sources.

Lauding Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kerry on the same day said if the reputation he has made in Gujarat extends to the rest of the country, 'all will benefit.'

While addressing a press conference at the Vibrant India summit here, Kerry also said he was impressed with the 'palpable entrepreneurial interest' of the people of Gujarat.

"PM Modi made his reputation here in Gujarat. If that can be extrapolated to the rest of India and dealing with all countries, we all benefit," he said in an apparent reference to the economic strides Gujarat made when Modi was its Chief Minister.

"The PM has a very ambitious plan that every home in India will have 24-hour electricity and we hope we can do a great deal to help with that," he said.
