Hindu lawmaker from Pakistan named in BBC's 100 inspiring and influential women

Islamabad, Nov 19 (IBNS): A Hindu woman, who also became the first female senator from the Dalit community in Pakistan, has found a place in the BBC's  100 inspiring and influential women list.

40-year-old Krishna Kumari Kohli is placed at No 48 on the list.

In the list, she has been recognised a Pakistani politician.

"Krishna was elected to the Pakistan Senate after campaigning for women's rights, having previously been forced into bonded labour for three years," read the BBC list where Krishna's work and life have been described briefly.

Ranging in age from 15 to 94, the list includes women from 60 nations across the globe.

Abisoye Ajayi-Akinfolarin from Nigeria has topped the chart.
