Islamabad, Apr 30 (IBNS) A Pakistan court on Thursday sentenced four persons to 25 years in jail for the 2012 attack on Malala Yousafzai, the teenager who last year won the Nobel Peace Prize.

All the convicts are members of a militant fundamentalist organisation-Tahreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) which had claimed responsibility for the attack on Malalai in October 2012 when she was returning from school in Mingora town of Swat district in Khyber Pakhtunhwa province of Pakistan,Dawn reported.

The verdict was delivered by an anti-terrorism court.

The Pakistan army had  arrested in 2014 ten men involved in the attack on Malala that critically injured her.

The girl, who was only 15 when attacked, however, recovered the gun shot injuries after being treated in the UK.

She later moved to the UK, where she lives with her family now.

Malala, who completed 17 and received the Nobel Peace Prize last year as the youngest recipient of the award has earned worldwide acclaim for her courage and determination to fight for the right to education of girls in Swat valley .
