Extreme poverty following Taliban takeover of Afghanistan forces man to burn himself to death

Kabul: An Afghanistan man died after setting himself on fire for being extremely impoverished following the transformation of the regime in the country.

The Taliban took control over Kabul last year.

The deceased person was identified as Spin Gul.

He succumbed to his wounds in hospital after he burnt himself in Kabul on Monday.

His grandmother told Khaama Press his grandson committed suicide after being extremely impoverished following the transformation of the regime in the country.

Interior Ministry of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan denied Spin Gul committed suicide due to a bad economic situation adding that he had mental disorders, the news agency reported.
