Despite facing backlash, Pakistan ramps up Durand Line

| @indiablooms | Jun 23, 2021, at 02:10 am

Kabul: Pakistan has completed 80 percent of the Durand Line fencing despite  witnessing backlash from the people on both sides of the line, media reports said.

The Pakistani interior ministry said that the fencing would be completed within ten days, reports Afghanistan Times.

The Pakistani military began fencing the imposed Durand Line in 2017, posing hurdles for the residents of the two sides who have engaged and connected in mutual social, ethnic and economical interests. Pakistan’s fencing the line faced serious backlash by the residents of the two sides, the news portal reported.

However, a conflict remains between the two nations on the issue.

However, the Pakistani government has been declaring the line as official border but none of the Afghan government so far agreed to accept Durand as border with Pakistan.,Afghanistan Times reported.
