Islamabad: Pakistani politician Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday took oath as he joined PM Shehbaz Sharif's Cabinet as a federal minister.

President Arif Alvi administered the oath to the PPP Chairperson.

The PM was present at Aiwan-i-Sadr where the ceremony took place.

Thirty-three-year-old Bilawal was first elected to the National Assembly in 2018. This is the first time he will be serving as a member of the federal cabinet, reports Dawn News.

His portfolio is still not known.

His sister  Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari, however, congratulated him for becoming new the foreign minister of Pakistan.

" Today @BBhuttoZardari will take oath as Pakistan’s Foreign Minister in this unity government - decided by #PPP CEC & we couldn’t be more proud of him! Already outshone in Parliament & always stuck to his democratic values - excited to witness this path," she tweeted.
