Bangladesh: Police arrest madrasa teacher for allegedly raping several minor boys

Dhaka: Bangladesh police have arrested a  madrasa teacher for allegedly raping several minor boys in country's Sirajganj area, media reports said.

The arrested person is identified as  Jahangir Alom Khan.

He is working as a teacher of Fulkocha Hafizia Madrasa of Sirajganj Sadar upazila.  

Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Hafizur Rahman told Dhaka Tribune the teacher is accused of often raping the children by intimidating them when they were sent to him for arabic lessons.  

"One of the victims informed his father after he had to face such an incident two days ago. Police arrested the madrasa teacher after a complaint was made on Monday evening," said OC Md Hafizur on Monday.

The teacher was presented in the court on Tuesday.
