At least 5 die in floods in Iran

Tehran, Apr 1 (Xinhua/UNI) At least five people were killed in the fresh floods that swept Iran's western Lorestan province on Sunday, Tasnim news agency reported.

Heavy rains and subsequent floods in Lorestan caused damage to infrastructure, including the residential buildings, bridges and roads.

The floods also caused displacement of the people in the affected areas, according to the report.

Almost 50 percent of the Delfan county in Lorestan has been flooded and the rising water level has disconnected the linking roads to 300 villages in the country.

Floods and landslides killed at least 44 people and injured 265 others across Iran last week.
