Afghanistan: Taliban fires at people protesting against Pakistan in Kabul

Kabul/IBNS: Taliban fired at people, who were protesting against Pakistan in Afghanistan's capital city Kabul Monday night, as media reports said, indicating a hobnobbing between the insurgent group and Islamabad.

People were reportedly fired near the Presidential Palace by the Taliban forces.

Heavy gunfire was heard today while the casualty is not yet known.

Reports and video footage showed the Taliban forces opened fire to disperse the protesters.

People protested on the streets of Kabul against Pakistan's state-sponsored terrorism activities.

Late at night, even women came out and protested against Pakistan, calling for the 'death' of Islamabad and 'long life' of Afghanistan.

They refrained from speaking directly against the Taliban, which invaded Afghanistan last month, but indirectly protested against them too.

Earlier, Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the Resistance forces in Panjshir, had asked people to stand against Taliban and Pakistan.

Pakistan Air Force drones were used to bomb on Sunday Afghanistan's Panjshir province, which was the last bastion of the National Resistance Force before it fell to the Taliban finally,  several media reports claimed.

Smart bombs were used to bomb Panjshir, former Samangan MP Zia Arianjad said as quoted by various media.

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid Monday declared victory of the insurgent group over the resistance forces in the northeastern province of Panjshir.
