Kabul: Afghanistan security forces have driven out Taliban terrorists from Qala-e-naw city of western Badghis province as the insurgents are on a spree in the war-ravaged nation seizing territories and mounting attacks amid the final withdrawal by foreign troops.

Taliban militants were driven from the building of provincial National Directorate office, national police headquarter and the building of central prison in the city, the Ministry of Defense was quoted as saying by Tolo News.

Spokesperson of Ministry of Interior affairs Tariq Arian in his recent tweet said that Qala-e-naw city has been cleared of Taliban fighters and the city is now fully under ANDSF members’ control. Arian added that the fighters were inflicted heavy casualties, reports the news portal.

The Taliban did not comment on the issue so far.
