Uttarakhand expecting a rise in number of tourists from West Bengal

Kolkata: Every year throngs of tourists from West Bengal visit Uttarakhand.

As per statistics, Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board has witnessed 15-20% of tourists coming from Bengal. The officials further are participating in Travel Tourism Mart in Kolkata to double the percentage in coming years.

UTDB representatives promoted its tour packages, hotels, investment areas among the visitors in TTF that commenced from Friday in Kolkata.

Additional Director Vivek Singh Chauhan said, “We have recorded a hike of visitors visiting Uttarakhand from Bengal in last few years. We are firm that this flow will grow in the coming years as Uttarakhand Tourism has started many activities for adventure tourism, religious tourism, rural tourism etc. We have affordable homestays for the tourists which offer home away from home best suitated for workcation."

"We have also witnessed a interest of people here for CharDhamYatra. Keeping this in consideration we are also promoting our Winter Char DhamYatra which are situated in four different location namely Yamuna Temple (Kharsali Village), Ganga Temple (Mukhba Village), Onkeshwar Temple (Ukimath), and Narsingh Temple (Pandukeshwar Temple Joshimath). The Yatra is now all season as tourists can seek blessings visiting these areas during summer," he added.
