LTC scheme for air travel to J&K extended for two years

New Delhi, Sep 8 (IBNS): The Ministry of Finance announced on Thursday that the central government has decided to extend the facility to travel by any airlines to visit Jammu & Kashmir on LTC.

According to the release, to boost tourism in J&K, the central government has decided to extend the facility to travel by any airlines to visit the state on LTC, under Special Dispensation Scheme for Central Government employees, for a period of two years beyond Sep 25, 2016.

In 2014, the Centre had eased LTC rules to allow employees to travel by by Air India to visit J&K, northeastern states and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The central government later allowed travel by private airlines to J&K under a special scheme.

The initial scheme,which expired in November 2015 was first extended to Sep 25, 2016 and now further extended for two more years.
