AirAsia India launches daily Kolkata-Ranchi and Ranchi-New Delhi flights

Kolkata, April 17 (IBNS): Double daily flights on Kolkata-Ranchi and Ranchi-Delhi routes were launched on Monday by AirAsia India, a joint venture between Tata Sons Limited and AirAsia.

The first departure from Kolkata was flagged off by Deepak Mahendra, Chief Financial Officer, AirAsia India and Kesavan Sivanandam, Director, Customer Experience and Ground Operations, AirAsia India in the presence of important officials from the Kolkata Airport.

In Ranchi, Raghubar Das, Chief Minister, Jharkhand flagged off the first flight to New Delhi in the presence of Amar Abrol, MD & CEO, AirAsia India and Kiran Jain, Commercial Director, AirAsia India.

Other important officials from the Tourism Ministry were also a part of the inaugural celebrations at Ranchi.

The airline said in a release that it will be hiring local talent across posts, both for on-ground and in-flight in Kolkata and Ranchi.

As part of this celebration, AirAsia India served complimentary meals to guests on board the four inaugural flights connecting Kolkata-Ranchi and Ranchi-New Delhi from the newly curated summer menu.

AirAsia India currently flies to 15 destinations, with its three hubs in Bengaluru, New Delhi and Kolkata, covering Chandigarh, Jaipur, Guwahati, Imphal, Pune, Goa, Vizag, Kochi, Hyderabad, Srinagar, Bagdogra and Ranchi.
