We need to improve our pace bowlers: Bangladesh Cricket Captain

| @indiablooms | Nov 24, 2019, at 03:11 pm

Kolkata/IBNS: Captain of Bangladesh test cricket team on Sunday asserted that Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) decision to play pink ball test was right and despite the loss, it was nice practice for the team for future.

"We had to play today or tomorrow, so can't say that BCB's decision to accept BCCI's offer to play Pink Ball test was wrong. India also didn't play with pink ball. It was a nice practice for our team in pink ball," Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque said after losing to India by an innings and 46 runs in the day-night Pink Ball Test at the Eden Gardens here on Sunday.

Haque said Bangladesh's loss should not be attributed to the absence of Tamim and Shakib. "The players who had replaced them got an opportunity," he maintained.

Underscoring that the first ever daynight cricket test was a valuable experience for the team, he said, "Me as a captain also had an opportunity."

Bangladesh team, who faltered against the swing of Ishant Sharma, needs to improve its pace bowlers, Haque iterated.
