Islamabad: Pakistani opener Mohammad Rizwan said players are passionate like soldiers who are ready to sacrifice their lives for the country.

Rizwan decided to play the semi-final match of the T20 World Cup against Australia despite spending two days in Dubai hospital.

"I am now feeling much better, I would request people to pray for me," he was quoted as saying by Geo News.

He said Pakistani cricketers are as passionate as the country's soldiers, adding that they are "always ready to sacrifice their lives" for Pakistan.

"I am always ready [to play] for Pakistan," he told the news channel.

Pakistan lost the match against Australia in the semi-finals.
