Virat Kohli joins 2000 runs club in T20 Is
Manchester, July 4 (IBNS): Indian skipper Virat Kohli added one more feather to his wings as he became the fastest batsman to reach 2000 runs mark in T20 Internationals.
He reached the mark in 56 innings.
He achieved the landmark during the first T20 International played between India and England.
Kohli needed just 8 runs to reach the landmark in his career.
It was in the 16th over of the match when Kohli achieved it.
Apart from Kohli, few other batsmen have achieved the feat so far in T20Is.
New Zealand's Mark Guptill is standing on the top of the chart with 2271 runs under his belt in 73 innings.
He is followed by former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum.
He scored 2140 runs by playing 71 innings.
Pakistan's Shoaib Malik played 59 T20 Is to reach 2000 runs.
India defeated England by eight wickets in the match.
