Berlin/IBNS: Winning the Laureus Sporting Moment Award (2000-2020) here, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday thanked all people for their love and support.

In a tweet, Tendulkar, the former Indian skipper, said, "Thank you all for the overwhelming love and support! I dedicate this @LaureusSport award to India, all my teammates, fans and well wishers in India and across the world who have always supported Indian cricket."

Tendulkar, who was a part of the 2011 World Cup-winning Indian team, won the Laureus best sporting moment in the last 20 years title for the time when he was lifted on the shoulders of his teammates following the 50-over title victory in Mumbai.

"With the incredible backing of Indian cricket fans, who united in support of their hero, the Laureus Sporting Moment Award (2000-2020) public fan vote was won by Sachin Tendulkar. Voted for by sports fans around the world, the Award celebrated moments from the past two decades where sport has unified people in the most extraordinary way," the official website of the award said.

He became the first Indian to clinch the prestigious award.

Speaking about the 2011 World Cup, Tendulkar said after receiving the award, "..Very rarely the entire country celebrates. Very rarely there are no various opinions. Everyone sit together and celebrate and this is a reminder again of how powerful sport is and what magic it does to all our lives.."
