T20: Rohit Sharma, Sundar help India beat Bangladesh, reach final

Colombo, Mar 15 (IBNS): A smartly played 89 runs innings by skipper Rohit Sharma helped India beat Bangladesh by 17 runs in the group stage match of the ongoing T20 tournament as the Men In Blue cruised to the final of the tournament here on Wednesday.

After being put to bat first, India posted competitive 176 runs for the loss of three wickets.

Sharma showed good touch with his willow as he smashed five boundaries and five sixes in his 61-ball knock.

He got important support from the other end with Shikhar Dhawan (35) and Suresh Raina (47) showing some form.

Raina played brutally as he hit five boundaries and two sixes in his 30-ball innings.

Rubel Hossain picked up two wickets for Bangladesh.

In return, Bangladesh scored 159 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.

India's  Washington Sundar bowled wonderfully as he gave away only 22 runs to pick up three wickets that helped India script another  victory on the Sri Lankan soil.

Sri Lanka is the other team playing the tournament.
