Sunrisers Hyderabad appoints Simon Helmot assistant coach as Simon Katich quits

| @indiablooms | Feb 18, 2022, at 10:57 pm

Hyderabad/UNI: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday appointed Simon Helmot as the new assistant coach after Simon Katich parted ways with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise.

Former Australian opener Katich was appointed as assistant coach in December last year.

He parted ways with SRH citing bio-security restrictions and family issues, Cricbuzz reported.

Helmot was previously part of the Hyderabad-based franchise's coaching staff from 2012 to 2019.

The former Australia batter has also served as the head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) before pulling out of the UAE leg of IPL 2021.
