Stan Wawrinka wins US Open title

New York, Sept 12 (IBNS): Swiss Tennis player Stan Wawrinka defeated Serbian star Novak Djokovic in the final of the US Open men's singles event to clinch the title.

The Swiss player defeated his opponent 6-7 (1-7) 6-4 7-5 6-3 to win the major title of the year.

This was his first IS Open title victory.

Wawrinka had earlier clinched  Australia and France titles in the past two years.
