Spain-England face off in FIFA U-17 World Cup final today

Kolkata, Oct 28 (IBNS): Twenty-two days after the mega tournament kick off, Spain will take on England in the FIFA U-17 World Cup final at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium in the city on Saturday.

The final match is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.. local time.

While Spain reached the final beating Mali, England thrashed Brazil in the semi final.

The tournament will close with a ceremony at the stadium after the end of the final match.

Local students have drawn decorative designs (alpana) in front of the main gate of the Yuba Bharati Stadium. A geometric figure of 200 metre wide has been drawn by around 88 students.

Ahead of the final clash, Brazil and Mali, who have crashed out of the tournament from semi final, will play against each other for the third spot in the tournament.

Brazil-Mali match will begin at 5 p.m.. local time in Kolkata.

India played as the host team in the tournament. However, they could not proceed from the group league.

India lost all their matches in the tournament.
