Solid performance by batsmen put India in command on Day 2 against West Indies

Hyderabad, Oct 13 (IBNS): Solid batting performance by Indian batsmen put the home side in a comfortable position at the end of the second day of the second Test match against India here on Saturday.

After bowling out West Indies for 311 runs in their first innings, Indian batsmen put up 308 runs for the loss of four wickets at the end of the day.

Despite poor show by KL Rahul (4),  Prithvi Shaw  (70) once again shined with the bat for the homeside.

Cheteshwar Pujara (10)failed to contribute with his willow.

Virat Kohli (45), Rahane (75 not out) and Pant (85 not out) batted brilliantly to end the day's play in India's favour.

Earlier, Umesh Yadav picked up six wickets to destroy the West Indies batting.

Roston Chase (106)  scored the fourth ton of his career that helped the visitors recover in the innings.
