Shreyas Iyer slams debut Test hundred against New Zealand in Kanpur

Kanpur/IBNS: India's young batsman Shreyas Iyer on Friday joined the list of cricketers who have slammed a hundred on debut Tests.

Iyer, who began his batting right from where he left last evening, scored the remaining 25 runs to touch 100 on the second day of first Test between India and New Zealand here.

Iyer became the 10th Indian to hit a debut Test hundred at home, sharing the list with greats like Lala Amarnath, Gundappa Viswanath, Mohammad Azharuddin, Rohit Sharma.

He was dismissed at 105. 

Iyer was handed over his India cap on the first day of the Test by cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar.
