Shadab Jakati joins political party in Goa

Panaji, July 23 (IBNS) Cricketer Shadab Jakati, who is known for his appearances in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL), on Saturday said he has joined Goa Forward Party.

Beginning his career in politics, Jakati tweeted: "Cricket is my life! Now it is time to take Goa Forward n make politics a gentleman’s game #GoaForward #VijaiSardesai."

He said: "I’ve decided to bat, bowl and field for #GoaForward on the political pitch @VijaiSardesai @GoaForwardParty."


Jakati had played the IPL under the leadership of Indian ODI and T20 International skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni for now-banned Chennai Super Kings side.

His current IPL side is Gujarat Lions.
