Saparya and Aman clinch WB State under-9 chess title

Kolkata, May 27 (IBNS): Saparya Ghosh seized u-9 title with 6.5 points out of 7 rounds while Aman Dhanuka scored 7 points out of 8 rounds to become the champion of 31st WB State Under-9 Fide Rated Chess Championship 2019, which commenced at Kolkata from 25th to 27th March.

Saparya set an all win record with 6 out of 6 and drew in the last round to secure her championship.

Aman also became an unbeaten champion by garnering 7 points out of 8. 

He drew last two rounds to claim the trophy. Vipasanna Lama and Hrishikesh Kumar Banik secured runner-up spot in their respective categories.

Selected players will represent Bengal in the upcoming National Championship.
