Saketh Myneni defeated in US Open first round

New York, Aug 30 (IBNS): Indian Tennis player Saketh Myneni put up a strong show against Czech Jiri Vesely but failed to clinch the match in the first round of the US Open tennis tournament on Monday.

Despite giving a tough battle to his opponent, Saketh Myneni was defeated by Jiri Vesely by 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-2, 2-6, 5-7.

The match lasted for three hours and 47 minutes at Court 9.

The Indian is currently ranked 143rd in the world.
