Rio: India beat Argentina 2-1

Rio de Janeiro, Aug 9 (IBNS): India put up another heroic performance to recover from the defeat at the hands of Germany to beat Argentina in a Rio Olympics group B match 2-1 here on Tuesday.

After defeating Ireland, India were defeated by Germany, despite a giving  strong efforts in the match.

Recovering from the defeat, India brilliantly fought to defeat the South American side, who have not lost to the Asian nation since 2009.

India made it 2-1 via goals by Chinglensana (8th minute) and Kothajit Khadangbam (35th).

It was only Gonzalo Peillat (49th) who reduced the goal difference for Argentina.
