Rio: Dipa Karmakar creates history, reaches vault finals

Rio de Janeiro, Aug 8 (IBNS): Magic was witnessed on the turf here as India's Dipa Karmakar created history by becoming the first Indian to reach the individual vault finals in her maiden Olympics after finishing 8th in the qualifying stage.

She is the first gymnast from India to qualify for the Olympics.

After two attempts, the Tripura girl was able to secure 14.850 points.
