PM Narendra Modi congratulates Indian Sepak Takraw team for winning the Bronze Medal in Asian Games

New Delhi, Aug 21 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated the Indian Sepak Takraw team for winning the Bronze Medal in the Asian Games.

"Celebrating teamwork, scripting history. Congratulations to the Indian Sepak Takraw team for winning the Bronze Medal. This Medal is truly special. #AsianGames2018," Modi tweeted.

Creating history, India clinched a bronze medal in the men’s team regu event of sepaktakraw here on Tuesday.

This was India's first medal in the sepaktakraw sports in the history of the game.

India settled for bronze after the side was defeated by Thailand in the semi-finals clash.

Thailand defeated India by 2-0 margin in the match.

Thailand is considered as a powerhouse in the game.
