N Chandrababu Naidu announces Rs. 3 cr cash prize for Sindhu

Vijayawada, Aug 20 (IBNS): A day after she won the silver medal at the Rio Olympics, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that his government has decided to award Rs 3 crore cash prize to badminton sensation PV Sindhu.

The Chief Minister also announced Rs 50 lakh cash award to Sindhu's coach Pullela Gopichand.

"Delighted to share that AP Cabinet has resolved to award @Pvsindhu1 with Rs.3 cr & Gopichand with Rs. 50 lakh cash," Naidu tweeted.

Sindhu was defeated in the final of the women's singles badminton event at the Rio Olympics on Friday.

She settled for silver medal.
