Chennai/IBNS: He might be missing from the India team but former skipper MS Dhoni will be seen playing for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.

N Srinivasan, the vice-chairman and managing director of India Cements, owners of the franchise said Dhoni, who won the IPL title more than once for the CSK, will be retained in 2021 when he will be auctioned.

“Dhoni will play this year. And next year he will be in auction and will be retained for CSK," CSK tweeted quoting him.

Dhoni last played for the Indian team in the semi-final clash against New Zealand in the semi-finals of the World Cup. India were defeated in the match.

Dhoni made himself available for selection for a long period after the semi-finals defeat.

Recently, he was dropped from India's central contract.
