Cape Town, Feb 8 (IBNS): Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Wednesday became the first Indian wicket-keeper to effect 400 dismissals in the One Day Internationals.

Dhoni took 315 ODI matches to create the record.

Dhoni is still behind former cricketers like Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara (482), Australian Adam Gilchrist (472) and South African Mark Boucher (424), who lead the chart.

The former World Cup winning captain, who holds multiple records against his name, effected the 400th dismissal in the third ODI match on the ongoing bilateral series against South Africa a day ago.
